A large and fine example of an early 18th century Walnut armchair. Much wider than average and very likely a special commission. It has a huge splat back and amazing shepherds crook arms. The needlework seat is a Victorian replacement but probably a take on the original. The chair is rock solid and in marvellous condition for its 300+ years. A beautiful piece of furniture from the heyday century of British design and craftsmanship. Badly out of fashion at the moment but not amazing that the tide is slowly turning, people are waking up to 18th century furniture .
