Victorian Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

A quality, impressively sized secretaire bookcase with strong Aesthetic overtones in it’s design. The two cupboard base has square and rectangular panels which are carved through to the upper structure. The Secretaire drops down to reveal a newly tooled leather writing surface and numerous drawers and pigeon holes. The bookcase has two shelves and has working locks with keys. There is a card inside for a manager of HIPPS, LTD Ladies and Gents Tailors, Oldham. Also an invitation card dated to 1892.
