A rare opportunity to acquire one of a number of superb quality dining tables recently acquired from the prestigious public school Arnold School in Blackpool. The school was founded in 1896 by Frank Truswell Pennington and was first established as South Shore Collegiate School.
Famous Alumni include Sir William Lyons – Co-founder of Jaguar Cars, Michael Smith – Nobel Prize Winner, Jimmy Armfield CBE – 43 caps for England football team and captained 15 times, Tom Graveney – 79 tests for English Cricket, John Pritchard – Current Bishop of Oxford, Geoffrey Thompson – Owner of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Jenna-Louis Coleman – Actor (Current Dr Who Companion, Emmerdale, Captain America).
We estimate that these tables were commissioned for the school in the 1920’s and testament to their quality of construction and timbers(Oak legs and stretchers – teak tops) they are as sturdy as when made. Due to a great many years at the mercy of thousands of schoolchildren we have undertaken to refinish a small number of these tables in a manner which is more of todays tradition, but if you had a certain requirement we might be able to accommodate your request.
