Art Nouveau Bookcase
£1,875.00
A wonderful golden oak bookcase with beautiful leaded windows to the upper doors which sit below a very crisp dentil cornice. The lower section has a very unusual feature in that the left hand cupboard was commissioned to be a coal receiver, the original liner is still present. This could still be used for coal or logs, but most people re-purpose coal receivers for magazines or slippers etc. The left hand drawer also has a drop down front, possible for a small shovel or brush. The central panels to the three cupboards have a well carved composition of an urn with surrounding foliage. To the middle and sides of the front are reeded columns with a carved acanthus panel at the top. The whole piece is in great original condition and splits into two halves for easier transportation.
